NO FITNESS CENTER

I am a teacher at Moon Area School District. The district is building a new high school and has no plans on building a fitness center. PE is always the first to be overlooked and i cant understand how this school could do this. We are just as big as neighboring schools and probably have higher taxes but we somehow cant afford a fitness center at a new high school spending 60 million dollars. This district does not have any kind of fitness equipment besides the five pieces at the middle school. Is this happening to anyone else out their?

Fitness Equipment is a huge investment and not one that should be taken lightly. The best way to spend money effectively is to aggressively research and educate yourself on the particular type of home exercise equipment you would like.

I wonder the outcome of not having a fitness center at the High school will have? It seems logical for students looking for a positive outlet to exercise and attain lifetime fitness without getting involved in sports that require a lot of skills that the students may not be good at. I think it is in your best interest to persuade and/or advocate for the space and creation of a fitness center for lifetime fitness and better test scores.
